Winter Wonderland

After Christmas Mike and Stef invited us up to their family cabin up by Donner for some fun in the snow. There was definitley a LOT of snow! We actually got snowed in and had to wait for the snow plow to come before we could leave. There was probably about 12 feet of snow by the time we left! You could just see the tops of the cabins around us. It was Kaden's first time playing in the snow and he LOVED it! We did a little bit of sledding while Mammo Tess, Aunt Sulie and Aunt Stef stayed in the toasty warm cabin with Kolton and Brynn. It was a little crazy because we were basically sledding off the roof. Luckily the snow didn't decide to slide until we were back inside the cabin (poor planning on our part to sled in a danger zone!). Morgan and Kaden were troopers and we all had a lot of fun....except for the times when the two 2 year olds were getting cabin fever and were quite restless! Thanks Mike and Stef for a few days of fun and great memories!

Christmas 2010

We had a very nice, quiet Christmas this year and celebrated at my mom's house. I have to admit...having to stay somewhat isolated during the holiday madness has been kinda nice. When Kaden was born and also now with Kolton, I wasn't able to get so "caught up" in the craziness of buying presents and trying to do it all. At the same time, it is always hard having to miss out on things but I know it is temporary and next year we can join in all the fun festivities. We did get to spend Christmas eve with my brother and his family and being around all the little ones reminded me of what Christmas is really about!

O'Christmas Tree

Every year since I was as little as I can remember my family and a group of friends have an annual Christmas tree gathering. We head up to this old tree farm and afterwards, eat, drink and be merry. The people that we do this with are like family and I look forward to this tradition every year. It just wouldn't be Christmas without it. I didn't think I was going to make it this year with Kolton being early, etc. but Kyle was a sweetie and he stayed with Kolton so I could take Kaden for a bit. We helped Uncle Mike and Morgan find their tree (Stef was home with their new baby girl Brynn....CONGRATS to them on their beautiful little angel!) We had a small group this year but a great time...as always!! (I thought I had a group pic on my camera but it must have been on moms)

Not the best portraits!

Since we can't take Kolton anywhere that there are crowds that leaves out having professional pictures done. I thought I would try to take a few snapshots to send to family for Christmas but they just didn't turn out at all like I had hoped. I have a new respect for child photographers! Just getting Kaden to look at the camera is tough! Anyhow...here are few of the cheesy pics I took and my dream is to someday have some professional ones done to have as a keepsake!

Shine On!

So Kaden got his first shiner...and I'm sure with having two boys it won't be the last! It happened right after we got home from taking Mimi to the airport. I was tending to Kolton because he was screaming and as I turned around, Kaden tripped and fell and hit his face on the knob on the TV stand. It immediately turned purple and swollen. The worst part was, when he tripped he had a cracker in his mouth and because he was crying/screaming he started choking on the cracker so I had to give him the heimlich. I was definitley wishing at that moment that Mimi was still there!! But I survived! :) Hopefully these types of incidents will be few and far between!

Visit from the Fam

So once again it has been a while since I have had a chance to post. I will try to catch up with the last couple of months. Back in early November Mimi, Papa and Aunt Brookie all came down to visit us for a few days. It was so nice having them here to help out with everything. They fed us, entertained Kaden and provided us with so much love and support. I cannot express how blessed I feel to be part of the Lazon family. They are beautiful, amazing, compassionate people and I am so grateful to have such amazing in-laws!
